Nearly 40% of Bronx residents lack access to high-speed internet (NYC Council Data Team, 2020). At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many students faced challenges connecting to online classes. 
In the winter of 2025, CUP Teaching Artist Sydney Abady collaborated with students from KAPPA International High School to investigate barriers to internet access in the Bronx, how digital access shapes opportunities for Bronx residents, and how to bridge the digital divide. 
To explore this question, students talked to community members, interviewed stakeholders involved, and studied drawing and collage. They gathered what they learned to create a booklet about the digital divide in the Bronx.
