Volunteers of Legal Service: Incarcerated Mothers Law Project

Since 1984, Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS) has partnered with a network of community-based organizations, law firms and corporations to provide free, high-quality civil legal services to New Yorkers with limited resources. Our vision is access to justice for every person in New York City.

VOLS Incarcerated Mothers Law Project (IMLP) provides high-quality, free family law services to mothers in and recently released from prison and jail in New York State who are seeking information about their family law rights. In doing so, VOLS helps incarcerated mothers access justice and produce better outcomes for themselves and their children.
