Melanie Sloan

Melanie Sloan is a Principal Project Manager in the City of Boulder Transportation & Mobility Department. Her education and work experience combines analysis, program management, community engagement, transportation planning, and planning policy. Melanie’s path from the analytical to the public realm grew from grassroots, with an emphasis on the public’s influence on planning and, ultimately, transportation. Melanie leads a team of talented planners who embody the City of Boulder’s emphasis on effective public engagement and commitment to effective public participation and justice, racial equity, diversity, and inclusion. She is interested in continuous improvement in her planning practice and cultivating civic capacity and engagement in her team and the community they serve to ensure the city’s transportation projects and programs reflect the lived experience and respond to the needs of all who travel in the City of Boulder, especially the most vulnerable and historically disenfranchised.
