Our Programs

We turn complex information into simple, visual, and culturally-relevant materials that make it easier for people to understand, navigate, and change the public policies and systems that impact their lives.

We do that through creating and sharing popular education materials, youth education programs, and leadership development and training programs.

Community Education

We collaborate with skilled designers and with communities impacted by pressing social justice issues to create popular education materials that help people claim their rights, advocate for their needs, and fight for social justice.

Trainings

Youth Education

We collaborate with high school students and teaching artists to use project-based arts and civics programs to explore timely questions about how the places we live are shaped, and how to be part of that decision-making.

Fellowships and Trainings

We support designers, artists, and civic workers to develop community-engaged design practices that center the power and vision of the communities they work with.

How We Work

Our work is committed to supporting the efforts of historically marginalized communities to build power and realize their visions for social change.

All of our projects:

...are created in partnership with marginalized communities and explain issues and solutions they've identified.

...are created in collaboration with designers or teaching artists, and use visual design to make information easy to understand and accessible.

...use everyday language and focus on information that people with lived experience have identified as most important to them.

...result in materials that help people access tangible improvements—better pay, stable housing, and more representation in government.
