The Public School Avengers Debut Presentation

_The Public School Avengers_ Debut Presentation

With over a quarter of a million students enrolled in NYC's 400+ public high schools, who decides what school a student can attend?

CUP and Teaching Artist Nupur Mathur worked with a group of students from the Red Hook Community Justice Center to peel back the layers on school segregation. The students got out of the classroom and into the politics of education to speak with people invested in the future of NYC’s public high schools, from students and parents to educators and policy makers. The team took what they learned and created a booklet that uses artwork to teach others about school choice, the impact decisions make on a student’s future, and how you can get involved.

Join us for the debut of their project at the Red Hook Community Justice Center, where students will present their booklet and discuss their creative process.
